Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance System Requirements

Can I Run Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance?

Fans of Dungeons & Dragons got some exciting news over the weekend, the new action RPG Dark Alliance will be on its way soon.

If you want to make sure you can run this title, it’s always best to do a quick roundup of your system specifications beforehand. It’s a simple case of comparing what specification your PC has to the ones which the game requires. If you need a bit of help finding these, we have written a short guide on how to do so.

We are also still developing our tool which allows for you to find out and compare your system specifications to games automatically. We’ll be sure to keep you updated once we have more news on this.

The requirements for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance are listed as predicted for the moment, we have looked at similar titles available to see what you would hypothetically need. We’ll make sure to update these once the developer lists the official requirements.

If you find you need to make some upgrades to your system or are simply looking to start fresh, we’ll go through some of the key components you need to consider at the end of this article.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance Game Details

  • Release date: Fall 2020 – PC and consoles
  • System Requirements: Medium-High
  • Genre: Third-person action role-playing game
  • Developer: Tuque Games
  • Publisher: Tuque Games

Built upon the popular Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance series, players will be heading back to Icewind Dale next year to fight off trolls, frost giants and any other horrors you’ll find. Players will control a party based on fan-favorite Drizzt Do’Urden and his companions, Wulfgar, Bruenor, and Catti-Brie.

This game looks like it will follow in a similar vein to the original Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance which launched on consoles shortly after Baldur’s Gate 2 concluded. Players will have a hack-and-slash adventure ahead of them which can either be played solo or with a group of friends.

Including characters that have spanned several series, players will be met with a familiar cast when they first start the game. The characters you control will still fall into tried-and-tested archetypes though.

Drizzt is the party’s ranger capable of fighting and staying hidden when needed, Wulfgar is the classic tank as a seven-foot-tall barbarian, Bruenor is your typical fantasy Dwarf with a flowing beard and heavy ax, and Cattie-Brie rounds the party off as an adept ranged fighter. Of course, existing Dungeons and Dragons fan already knew all that as these characters are all cemented in the lore of the game. There will be room for characters to adapt their classes though such as through equipable items and new skills to be learned. This is so you aren’t locked into one playstyle.

There will also be a central hub in Dark Alliance which serves as the quest finding and respite area. Alongside the main quest, players will also be able to engage in side missions to pass the time.

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

As always with new announcements, the system requirements aren’t usually listed. We’ve done our best to estimate what this title might need, but it’s always worth aiming to hit the recommended requirements if possible.

With this being an ARPG, the graphics shouldn’t be too demanding. Most modern machines will be able to run this title on release. Aiming towards the recommended requirements we’ve predicted should allow you to run the title at a steady framerate, with room for improved components if need be.

Once the official system requirements land we’ll be sure to update this page along with the suggestions. With a release date of next Fall, this title should be in the late stages of development by now. This should mean developers Tuque Games will be able to give players an idea of specs pretty soon.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

With the requirements for this game being predicted so far, it makes it a little bit difficult to suggest what PC build will hold up best. Taking these predictions with a pinch of salt, we’d recommend a mid-tier gaming build for this game. This should hopefully allow for a 1080p resolution to be reached at 60 FPS.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX590 8GB

A build ranging around $700 should run this title sufficiently. This kind of build offers some of the best power-for-price that you can find. With a build like this, you’ll have no problems running similar titles, or even some new additions with a little tweaking.
