Bloodborne 2 Release Date, Rumors, And News

Bloodborne has been one of the best PS4 exclusives to date, so it’s no surprise that people are desperate to see a sequel hit the shelves. But, From Software have been tight-lipped when it comes to a Bloodborne 2 release date, focusing on other releases instead. That hasn’t stopped fans digging deeper and speculating though, and we’re here to sift through all the rumors and conjecture to bring you the most up to date information we can find.

Bloodborne 2 Release Date

With the launch of the PS5 on the horizon, it seems likely that From Software will wait until this next-gen console has released before they announce any dates of their own. Given that the PS5 won’t be arriving until the second half of 2020 at the earliest, this means we may be waiting for quite some time before we get any news on this hotly anticipated sequel.

In fact, the studio has still not confirmed the existence of Bloodborne 2 yet. Despite this, there have been a number of hints that make us feel pretty confident that the game does in fact exist, or at least will exist in the near future. One of these was that the studio confirmed they were working on two new games, both of which follow the “soulsborne” formula we know and love.

There was also a teaser for a new game spotted in the Deracine game, also released by From Software, in which they seem to hint that the Bloodborne story is not over yet. The quote said, “A doll of the stone girl Fiona who appears in the unfinished tale”, and many fans have been quick to speculate that this is a reference to the original Bloodborne game.

Will Bloodborne 2 Happen?

As it currently stands, it doesn’t seem likely. Production bosses have denied its existence multiple times, despite the conspiracy theories that have been floating around. And, knowing what we know about the remaining lifespan of the PS4, even if it was in the works, it would be years away at best.

This doesn’t mean we won’t get more games in the soulsborne game world though. The release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice gave us a game similar to Bloodborne, but with a focus on Asian cultural styles instead. Many even thought that the trailer for this game at E3 was actually a Bloodborne 2 trailer – that’s how similar the two games are.

Final Word

We don’t have much information at all around the Bloodborne 2 release, unfortunately. Between the studio’s reluctance to say anything on the matter, and the expected release date of the PS5 both being considerable roadblocks, it doesn’t look like this will change anytime soon either. If we do get wind of any further news or updates, we’ll post them here as soon as we do.
