Crysis Remastered Trailer Drops Plus Leaked Release Date

Some more details about the upcoming Crysis Remastered edition have been revealed including a brand new trailer.

Crysis Remastered was originally announced with a trailer back in April. Given it was a 30-second trailer we didn’t get much information from it.

The new trailer has been released just ahead of the upcoming gameplay trailer which is expected to land July 1st. This trailer gives us a lot more to go on and sets up the story pretty nicely. Our first taste of the action is when we see the characters at the start of a mission jump out of a plane.

Crysis Remastered Gameplay

For those not familiar with Crysis, this is an FPS game that for the longest time was a go-to benchmark for new systems.

The impressive graphics, huge arsenal of weapons, and various ways to change up your fighting style keep players hooked throughout the game. Players wearing the Nanosuit get to switch between four different modes – armor, strength, speed, and cloak. These modes give players extra speed and strength advantages which adds a completely new element to the gameplay.

When you’re not busy fighting, you’ll get a chance to explore the open world of Crysis and pilot a variety of land, sea, and air vehicles to make your way across the map.

Crysis has ever-present threats of landslides, earthquakes, and tornados to contend with alongside an alien species. These are a formidable foe and use their senses to intelligently work together to hunt players down.

Will We See Anything New?

As a 13-year old game, the Crysis remastered version has been a long time coming. This has been described as a faithful remaster so we’re unlikely to see anything new when it comes to the story or gameplay.

It’ll be interesting to see if anything from Crysis 2 or Crysis 3 makes its way into the game though. We’ll be keeping an eye out for new weapons or abilities but we won’t hold out too much hope.

What we’re hoping is that the controls will work a bit smoother than the original which is starting to show its age. At the time of release, the original was seen by many as the peak of graphical performance so it will be interesting to see it updated for modern audiences and PCs.

When Will It Be Released?

So far, there hasn’t been an official announcement on the release date. However, we did see a listing on Xbox Live which listed the release date as July 23rd, 2020. It’s entirely possible that this is just a placeholder for now, so this could change. We’ll hopefully find out more in the next trailer release and keep you updated.
