Hellpoint Release Announced For July 30th

Techno-horror action-RPG Hellpoint has just had its release date confirmed, and we won’t have long to wait at all. Hellpoint is coming to Steam on July 30th.

As you can see from this launch trailer, it’s got a pretty strong visual identity. It’s blending demonic creatures with sci-fi imagery. It kind of feels like one of the Dark Souls games meets Doom 3. The blending of technology and machinery with runic symbols and nightmare creatures is a really strong aesthetic.

There’s a big emphasis on co-op play. It’s still fully playable in single-player mode, but there are extensive options for multiplayer, including online coop and local split-screen coop. Split-Screen coop is a particularly nice feature, which is far less common these days than it used to be and is especially rare on PC.

There’s both melee and ranged combat options available, and a massive space station on the outer reaches of the galaxy to explore. In classic Souls fashion, there are lots of interlocking shortcuts and secret passages to discover as you find new routes to the different locations in the station.

If you want to get a little taste of what Hellpoint has to offer, developer Cradle Games have already released ‘Hellpoint: The Thespian Feast’ on Steam, it’s a free standalone chapter of the game to enjoy whilst waiting for the full game to release.

The full game releases on the 30th of July and is up now on Steam, although they haven’t confirmed pricing or started preorders yet.
