Rustle up Some Grub With the Newly-Released Destiny: The Official Cookbook

Here’s one for all you food lovers and budding culinary masters out there: there’s now an official Destiny cookbook.

Destiny developer Bungie and publishing house Insight Editions revealed as much today. Destiny: The Official Cookbook promises ‘recipes collected from Guardians across the solar system.’

Author Victoria Rosenthal – who’s carved a niche as someone who unites the seemingly disparate worlds of food and video games – tapped into Destiny lore to conjure recipes inspired by the characters and locations that pepper the universe of Bungie’s popular multiplayer first-person shooter. Each recipe comes accompanied by a short anecdote that helps build a welcome narrative around each dish that should strike a chord with Destiny fans.

As the official description for Destiny: The Official Cookbook recounts:

”Eva Levante, friend, confidante, fashion adviser, and unofficial grandaunt of all Guardians, has finally put her collection of recipes together for everyone to enjoy. From the City, the Tower, the Farm, and records Guardians and their Ghosts have retrieved from the Golden Age archives throughout the solar system and beyond, these mouthwatering recipes come with step-by-step instructions and full-color photos to help guide and inspire fans to go on their own culinary adventure.”

Notable recipes include the turquoise Wavesplitter inspired by Titan, Spicy Ramen from the Tower, Reveler’s Tonic, a tasty looking coleslaw that channels Xur, and Gjalladoodles cashew cookies based on the stern and cold Zavala. Make what you will of the names and inspiration, but the dishes certainly look appetizing, regardless of whether you’re a die-hard Destiny fan or not.

Destiny: The Offical Cookbook is available today on the Bungie Store in hardbound format. Bungie says it’s the perfect accompaniment to the recently launched Season of Arrivals in Destiny 2. Buying it will set you back €37.99/$34.99. Each copy ships with a Destiny 2 ‘Between the Lines’ emblem printed on a card inside the book, which can then be redeemed in-game.
