Elder Scrolls Online is an MMORPG installment in the hugely popular The Elder Scrolls series. Set in the continent of Tamriel, the storyline runs alongside and is indirectly connected to the events in the main Elder Scrolls timeline. This means you don’t necessarily need to be familiar with the Elder Scrolls world, or games, to enjoy this title.

The game follows a non-linear narrative format and features a combination of quests, events and open-world free-roaming.

You can choose to play as ten different races including humans, elves or beasts. You can then choose one of six classes of character including sorcerer, templar, warden, necromancer, dragon knight, or nightblade. Each class offers different abilities and attack styles, offering plenty of variety to the playing style for yourself and friends who join in.

The overall aim of the game is to regain your lost soul which has been imprisoned in Wailing Prison in Coldharbour. Gameplay consists of battles, crafting, exploring and learning new abilities along the way.

For those familiar with the Elder Scrolls world, this offers another compelling playing experience. You can play alone or enjoy with friends who can join you on your adventures to explore more of the world and help you battle against monsters or even other players.

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

The minimum requirements will run this title at about 30 FPS at 720p resolution but for that, you will probably have to dial down the setting to low.

The recommended requirements should have your title running at a comfortable 60 FPS with 1080p resolution and that’s with the settings on high or ultra, so we would definitely recommend aiming for those specs or better if possible.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

Based on the recommended system requirements above, you won’t need a super-powerful PC to run this title. The chances are your current PC setup will be able to handle it well enough, providing your graphics card supports DirectX version 11.

The main problem you might come up against is storage. This title requires 85 GB of available HDD space, which is a pretty sizeable requirement. If you are running this on an older machine, you might have to think about upgrading your storage.

Based on this, if you are looking to upgrade your PC to run this title, we would recommend a PC build in the budget to mid-range costing about $600. The main components for this build are listed below and should be more than enough to run this title.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition

If you are looking to play more demanding titles than Elder Scrolls Online, then it might be worth expanding your budget to a mid-range PC build which should give you the flexibility to play varied titles without issue.

  1. Recently they’re adding options
    Beyond ultra settings.

    I play on 1080p
Resolution and there is now a option
For maximum settings and this is what I’m
    Wondering.

What system specs for the current maximum settings on the elder scrolls online
Would be necessary for 60 fps on a dsl modem
    With 1080p Resolution?
