Planet Zoo System Requirements

Can I Run Planet Zoo?

Do you love construction simulation games? Planet Zoo is a brand new title in the simulation world that allows you to build a zoo and home for your animals.

If you are excited to get stuck in and start building, the first thing you need to know is whether your computer can run it. You will need to compare the system requirements we’ll tell you about below with your current PC specifications.

If you are unsure of how to find your PC specs, you can follow our helpful guide to find them. It’s as easy as comparing them to the requirements below. However, we are aiming to make this even simpler with a brand new tool we are developing. It will allow you to do this all quickly and automatically so you don’t have to waste time working it all out yourself. We will let you know as work on the tool progresses.

Planet Zoo Game Details

  • Release date: 24 September 2019 on Microsoft Windows
  • System Requirements: High
  • Genre: Construction and management simulation
  • Developer: Frontier Developments
  • Publisher: Frontier Developments

Fans of games such as Planet Coaster and Zoo Tycoon will love this title as it’s developed by the same people who brought us those games.

Planet Zoo lets you build the ultimate zoo to house a wide range of authentic animals that respond to the world you build around them. You’ve got the choice to embark on a campaign journey or have free rein in a Sandbox mode, depending on how much control you want.

Players can build unique and authentic-looking exhibits with fully customizable options including terrain, foliage and the items you place in your animals’ habitats.

Introduce anything from carnivorous lions and tigers to gentle grass-feeding zebra. Each creature you bring into your zoo has a distinctive look and personality, all with needs and preferences of their own. You will need to design detailed habitats for your animals and research better ways to keep them happy and help them to thrive.

Besides looking after animals, you will also need to pay attention to your guests. You will need to create a fun-filled world to keep people coming back to your zoo.

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

With a vast simulation world like this with intricate details and different things to customize and control, you will need a PC that can handle running it smoothly. It’s definitely best to aim for the recommended system requirements and above if you want to run this title on ultra settings.

This will give you a stable and consistent 60 FPS and allow you to play it with a 1080p resolution. The minimum recommendations will lead to a drop in quality in terms of both resolution and framerate. If your PC can’t meet the recommended requirements, we would recommend thinking about an upgrade that will allow you to play this title and other games more comfortably.

If you want some help on how to get started building a new PC, we have a guide that might be able to give you some pointers.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

A detailed and high-spec title like this requires a solid PC build that can run it without stuttering or lag. We would recommend aiming in the mid-range PC region, for $800 PC builds and above.

A build like the one below will help you hit that 60 FPS rate and display it with a solid 1080p resolution so you’re not compromising on quality or gameplay.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core Processor
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 Super

However, if you have the budget to go further, then that’s always going to be better for you. Not only will a better PC give you peace of mind about running your favorite games, but it’s also likely to stand the test of time a little better and not become out of date as quick as more budget PC builds

If budget allows, we would recommend a $1000 PC build which will give you a better graphics card to run all those high-quality graphics you’re aiming for.
