Why is this Black Friday going to be a great time to find a cheap deal on the Sonos Beam? For starters, Sonos just released a Gen 2 version of the Beam in October 2021, providing a refreshed and refined model of the 2018 original. However, there’s not a huge difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 versions of the Sonos Beam – they’re the same compact size, and the speakers drivers inside are unchanged, although the Gen 2 does support the excellent Dolby Atmos audio and boast a sleeker design.
So if you’re looking to upgrade your TV’s built-in audio – something we heartily condone, by the way – the Gen 1 Sonos Beam is not only a great solution, but, at three years old, is also likely to hit some very cheap prices this Black Friday. We saw some significant reductions on the Sonos Beam in 2020, and it’s expected that it could hit its lowest price yet on Black Friday 2021.

In short, whereas the Sonos Beam is the more compact model of Sonos soundbar, the Sonos Arc is the latest premium, high-end sound bar, which comes with more features, including Dolby Atmos, and a higher number of internal drivers (11 compared to the 5 internal drivers of the Sonos Beam).
