Back 4 Blood is the latest cooperative shooter to launch from the developers over at Turtle Rock Studios. The original developers for Left 4 Dead have come forth with a spiritual sequel, offering players tonnes of new characters, weapons, features, maps and more.

While lots of the gameplay features have changed, the need to work together hasn’t. The game has quite difficult aspects, including somewhat random weapon drops, shop items, weapon attachments, and more. Some ammo types, weapons, or attachments suit different characters and playstyles. So, if you find yourself having something you don’t need, we will teach you how to drop ammo and items in Back 4 Blood.

How to drop ammo in Back 4 Blood

How to drop ammo B4B
You can find the drop ammo buttons at the bottom of the menu screen.

When you’re in-game, you can check your ammo count by opening up your character’s inventory. If you’re on your pc, press the tab key and hover over the various ammo counts at the bottom of your inventory screen. Place your mouse cursor over the correct ammo type that you wish to drop, and you can either drop 50 rounds or the full ammo count by pressing left or right-click, respectively. However, no matter what input method you are using, you can find the exact buttons at the bottom of the screen.

If you’re playing on Xbox, then you need to press the back key, especially if you’re using a 360 controller. If you’re using the more modern pads, then press the view button with the two boxes. Meanwhile, PlayStation users can press the touchpad to open up their inventory screen. You can then move over to the ammo of choice and press the appropriate buttons at the bottom of the screen to drop 50 or all ammo in that type.

How to drop weapons in Back 4 Blood

Dropping weapons is almost the same as dropping ammo. Once again, open up your inventory screen using your preferred controller method. Once the inventory is open, move over to the weapon you would like to drop and press the appropriate drop button. For K+M it is left-click, whereas both PlayStation and Xbox controller is RT or R2.

If you’re wondering how to drop weapon attachments, it is slightly tricky. You cannot drop a specific weapon attachment from your gun. However, you can drop a weapon attachment if you are replacing one already in the gun. Simply pick up the weapon attachment off the floor or the store. It will automatically replace the attachment in the weapon, dropping it to the ground. Your allies can then pick that up, but it does rely on finding an appropriate attachment in the store or on the map.

We hope this answers all your questions about how to drop ammo or items in Back 4 Blood.
