The great news is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare supports crossplay on all platforms. That means that if you’ve bought the game on PC but your friends are playing on consoles, you’ll still be able to enjoy playing together. It’s even possible to play with either a KB+M or controller regardless of what platform you’re using. Having said that, if you have a specific friend in mind who you want to play with, then there are a few extra steps you’ll need to follow first.

If your only goal is to play with strangers through regular matchmaking, then you can do that by simply starting a match like you normally would. Congratulations, you’re now playing with everyone regardless of their platform. If, however, you want to play with your friends, you’ll need to add them first. Select the ‘add friend’ option, and then enter your friend’s PSN ID, Gamertag, Battletag, or Activision ID. At that point, you’ll be able to add them to a party like you normally would.
Does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Cross Save/ Cross Progression
If you’re worried about your unlocks and levels being carried over then you’re in luck. In Modern Warefare, your progression is tied to your Activision account rather than your platform account, so as long as you log in to your Activision account on all platforms, you’ll be able to retain your in-game progress.
