While some might see this as a total grindfest, you’ll certainly feel the reward of crafting your very own weapons when that time comes.
There are a bunch of different materials needed such as Neutral Element, Resonant Alloy, Ascendant Alloy, and what we’ll be covering today – Ruinous Element.
What is Ruinous Element?
Ruinous Element is one of the key materials used for weapon crafting as well as catalyst crafting. It is a Legendary material making it much rarer than others thus making it much harder to obtain also.

How to get Ruinous Element in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
The quickest way you can get Ruinous Element is to acquire weapons with a red border around them also known as Deepsight Resonance weapons. These weapons have an ‘Attunement Progress’ bar when you hover over them which needs to be completed all the way up to 100%. To do so, simply use the weapon extensively and you should see some serious gains.
Once this has been completed, you may be rewarded with 12 Ruinous Element which doesn’t seem like a lot when compared to Neutral Element, for example, but you do require less of this Element to Shape weapons.
You should also be rewarded with Ruinous Element by completing activities, quests, and campaign missions but as these are either few and far between or simply don’t reward you with though, the best way to ‘farm’ Runionous Element is to go with the above method.
