Endwalker has launched, with players getting the chance to jump into the game and progress through many Endwalker MSQ and side quests. One of the quests that players are coming across in Endwalker is the FFXIV Secret in the Box quest. It turns out the quest is a bit tricky, requiring you to find NPS and perform weird acts. If you plan on working your way through the quest, we will guide you through it.
FFXIV Secret in the Box quest
The FFXIV Secret in the Box quest is a side quest that can be accepted in the Old Shiralayan zone. The quest is not necessary to complete, but it offers players the chance to grab a nice ring. If you’re interested in picking up the quest, you can find it on the Stadium grounds.
Note: This quest requires you to complete the MSQ, Outside Help, which is a level 88 MSQ. When you complete it, you can accept the side quest. From the Mysterious Maiden, found at x:10.6, y:11.1.
If you accept the quest, you’ll be asked to find several geezers and perform sill actions to complete the quest. There are three actions you need to perform to complete the quest. The three NPCs you need to talk to are the Sleepy Student, Nuktin, and Izumi.
- You can find the Sleepy Student at the x:7.9, y:13.8 coordinates. Click the NPC and type in /doze.
- Players will find Nutkin at x:9, y:7.3. Note that Nutkin is a squirrel, and you’ll need to /say Golden Squirrel.
- Izumi is the final NPC you will interact with as part of the quest. You can find Izumi at x:11.5, y:8.5. You only need to interact with the quest NPC to finish the quest.
Rewards: Chondrite Ring Coffer
When you solve the quest, you can head back to the NPC near the stadium and earn your keep. You will gain relevant XP from completing the side quest for a level 80-90 character and grab yourself 735 Gil. The ring is a ring that regards its stats based on the job that opened it at the time. Its item level is 545, which is fairly strong, higher than the Savage ilvl found in Shadowbringers (535).
We absolutely recommend grabbing this side quest if you did not doo much end game at Shadowbringers. The ring is 10 ilvl more than the savage gear, which is a huge boost to your leveling efficiency. Not to mention you’re going to need a higher average ilvl to queue for the harder content at max level.
