When Halo Infinite gameplay was revealed to the world, it was clear that it needed to cook a little longer to give it a little more polish to both the graphics, and probably the gameplay mechanics.

It’s clear that this was the right choice by 343 as a variety of flight tests for the multiplayer portion of the game were able to take place to refine the gameplay, coupled with the shiny new lighting you can see in campaign footage.

Now, while the two key elements of any Halo game, never mind Halo Infinite, are its campaign and multiplayer modes, those who don’t just like the vanilla aspects have enjoyed Forge for many years at this point.

The Forge mode was introduced in Halo 3 and allowed players to literally make whatever they like (within reason) with all of the game’s models and mechanics. This led to a plethora of fantastic custom maps and game modes that probably made players stick around far longer than they thought they would.

Since Halo 3, Forge has been implemented in Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo 5: Guardians, and fans have been chomping at the bit to know if it will be returning in Halo Infinite.

Let’s not keep you waiting any longer and get into the juicy details on Halo Infinite’s potential Forge mode.

One mode that sadly won’t make the cut for the December release date is Forge but it will be available post-launch. 343 has indicated that yes, Forge will be available but you’re going to have to wait until 2022 to get your creative juices flowing and making those fantastic custom maps.

Initially, we were expecting to see the Forge mode be implemented after Season One of the game came to a close in Spring 2022 and while that’s still the case, the Season One completion date has been pushed.

The potential new date attached to this is around May 2022 which is a few months longer than the original plan, but 343 has stated that this is due to wanting the content to be up to its high standards and done ‘in a healthy and sustainable’ manner for its workers.
