The Deluge is an optional side quest that lets you get one of the best early game armor sets. It’s strongly recommended to do the quest as it makes your playthrough much easier during the early hours of Horizon Forbidden West. Upon completing the quest, players will receive 3,750 XP, two skill points, and the Tenakth Vindicator Armor set.

How to Complete The Deluge in Horizon Forbidden West

The quest follows the story of the Bleeding Mark village which suffered great losses due to a devastating landslide. A lot of the villagers are missing and are cut off from help. It is up to Aloy to help the villagers get back to safety. When you head to the village, the quest triggers automatically.

While playing, your first job is to find the survivors on the cliffs and talk to the village leader. The leader will inform you about the missing people. Players have to search the ruined village for survivors who are trapped in the nearby metal tower. They have to lower the ladder and find the trapped people by using your Pullcaster.

Once you free the first group of people, you have to find the survivors who are trapped in the watchtower. You only need to take care of some machines and the people will come down on their own. Finally, you have to head to the cliffs and rescue the last group of survivors.

To rescue the survivors on the cliffs players have to create a crane that the villagers can use to get across.

One final villager needs to be rescued from the Gouge but is unable to move. You have to flood the cave so the wounded person can float and be rescued from the mines. But unfortunately, Aloy is not going to be able to save him and you have to go back to the village leader to deliver the bad news. Upon talking to the leader, you will receive your quest rewards.
