Gear Transfer in Lost Ark allows players to take a piece of their gear and transfer the current honing level of that gear into a new piece. The only cost for using this process is Silver but the price can mount up if you use it too frequently, the piece of gear you take the honing level from is also destroyed so be cautious. We cover how and when to use Gear Transfer below, as well as how you can get the most out of it!

How to use Gear Transfer

Gear Transfer can be accessed through the same NPC used for Gear Honing; they can be found in every major city. Select the Gear Transfer tab when speaking to this NPC and a new window will appear. You need to select the piece of gear you wish to transfer your honing level into on the left-hand side of the screen. A list of eligible pieces of gear will then appear on the right-hand side of the screen, select the piece you wish to take the honing level of. The item you take the honing level of is then destroyed.

When to use Gear Transfer

We recommend using this process sparingly for a few things. Firstly, use it to transfer your honing level to gear with a significantly better quality rating (above 75). Secondly, use it for transferring your honing level to pieces of gear in the same Tier but with better rarity. Finally, for a lovely +1 bonus honing level when transferring your fully honed gear to the next Tier. You’ll likely encounter the need to do this when you get purple rarity items with high quality towards the end of a tier.
