If you’re looking to increase your odds of finding shinies in the new Pokémon Legends Arceus, you’ll want to know how to get a Shiny Charm. Shiny Charms have been a part of the mainline Pokémon games since Black 2 and White 2, and drastically increase the chances of each Pokémon you encounter being a shiny variant. Due to it’s excellent benefits, though, the Shiny Charm isn’t easy to get, and you’ll need to have completed the main story before you can get it.

Completing the game isn’t the only part of obtaining the Shiny Charm in Pokémon Legends Arceus, though. You’ll need to have discovered every Pokémon is the Hisui region – hence why you need to have completed the main story. However, you’ll also need to “Complete” every Pokedex entry as well – i.e. increase every Pokémon’s dex entry to level 10. This may take some time.

Once you have completed every Pokémon entry in the Hisuian Pokedex – and finished the game – you’ll be able to go back to talk to Professor Laventon. At this point, he will give you the Shiny Charm, and you will be free to go post-game shiny hunting to build out that Pokémon Legends Arceus shiny-dex.

If you’re a little too far back in the game’s progress right now and aren’t in a rush, then you can still get your hands on a guaranteed Shiny Ponyta.
