To the great joy of Call of Duty fans everywhere, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered release date has leaked online, and it looks like fans could be playing the beloved campaign as early as 3/31/2020. With the great success of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster, it seems almost inevitable that this is going to be a game to remember.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Release Date
On the 30th of March 2020 the trusted Call of Duty news twitter account @Charlieintel broke the news that the German PS store leaked the trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, and that the release date is in fact the 31st of March, 2020.
We know that Modern Warfare 2 received a rating of 18 back in February 2019, suggestting that the game has been ready to play for a while – but with the popularity of Modern Warfare: Warzone being so immense, it seems like there was no better time than now for the Modern Warfare 2 campaign to be released.
Whilst fans were left in the dark for the longest time over the reported Modern Warfare 2 Remastered release, it seems their waiting has finally paid off, and they will be able to jump in sooner than expected. We love a blind launch.
Interestingly, this remaster is campaign only, with no mention of a multiplayer mode. While we think there’s no way we’d ever see a remastered release that omits arguably the greatest aspect of the game, we’re going to have to keep an eye out for more news on this.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Gameplay
It’s been reported that the game will recieve a massive overhaul of the graphics, including ‘improved textures, animations, physical rendering, HDR lighting, and more.” We can’t wait to see how this translates to missions like Cliffhanger, Takedown and S.S.D.D, but we know that after the success of Modern Warfare Remastered they are going to look great.
It’s also been reported that the controversial ‘No Russian’ mission will be in the game, though only time will tell if it remains playable in the future.
Also, it doesn’t look like there are any current plans to release the popular multiplayer from Modern Warfare 2, or the co-op levels alongside the campaign remaster – but we are sure that there is enough Modern Warefare multiplayer content to tide players over for now.

We can’t wait to see if these rumours are true, and look forward to immersing ourselves back into the original Call of Duty world alongside Soap, Ghost, Captain Price and even Shepard – all we can hope now is that the multiplayer and co-op mission release dates aren’t too far away.
