Can I Run FAR: Changing Tides on My Computer?

FAR: Changing Tides is a side-game set in the same universe as FAR: Lone Sails, and has a very similar aesthetic to that game. As such, the requirements are pretty on par with the previous title, so you’ll need at least a moderately decent system if you want to have a smooth experience at 1080p. If you want to be sure it’ll run properly, you’re going to need to know how to check your system specs.

We have a guide that’ll teach you how to check your hardware information which you can use to find your specs, then compare them with those we’ve listed down below. If your hardware isn’t good enough, you’ll need to upgrade your components, or potentially replace your system.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend to play FAR: Changing Tides?

While the RAM requirements are quite low, to get the best graphically out of the game you’ll need to invest in a decent graphics card with up to 6GB of VRAM available on it. While these cards aren’t horribly expensive by today’s standards, like many GPUs right now they’re a bit more expensive due to the ongoing card shortage. Even so, with around $600 you should be able to meet the recommended requirements.

If you’re going to buy a pre-built it’ll probably cost a little more. You can certainly find a $500 system that will have the game up and running. However, for the best experience, you’d be better off spending closer to $800 and ensuring you get the GPU you need.
