Call of Duty Vanguard campaign mode locked: Another bug to add to the list

Call of Duty Vanguard is finally here and, let’s be honest, it hasn’t had the smoothest couple of days since launch. While there has been some positive feedback regarding the game’s new features, many are actually slating the game, branding it broken and bug-riddled.

The latest bug to annoy early adopters of the game is the Call of Duty Vanguard campaign locked bug. That’s right, with a full release of the game, players still can’t play the campaign mode. Hilarious.

The news of the annoying bug started to spread pretty quickly after launch, with Reddit posts cropping up all over the place. Many reports state that “I cant play Call of Duty Vanguard Campaign mode. It is showing as locked.” even after installing the base game and campaign in Battle.net.

Despite this being incredibly annoying, it seems the issue lies with the downable content itself. According to sources, you have to download the campaign chapters separately from the game itself. Depending on what platform you’re using, this can be an entirely separate download.

If you hover over the campaign mode, you should see an option to start installing the campaign. As these are fairly large files, be sure to check your available storage before downloading them – saving yourself any additional problems that may occur.

Once completed and installed, restart your device and the game should load.

All being said, some people are still experiencing some annoying campaign bugs. It’s unclear at this stage whether or not Activision and the development team are actually aware of this. However, with big problems like this, it’s normally only a matter of time before some update is available.
