Ghostwire: Tokyo A Passage Beyond side mission guide

As Ghostwire Tokyo progresses, many of its side missions will become increasingly more difficult, right alongside the main missions. The A Passage Beyond Side Mission will put you up against a fearsome foe, likely one more dangerous than any you’ll have faced in Ghostwire Tokyo so far. Ghostwire Tokyo: A Passage Beyond walkthrough

To begin A Passage Beyond, you need to speak to a spirit located at the bus station in the centre of the construction labyrinth. The bus station is located just to the east of the Yashin Shrine.

Soon you’re off searching for the hidden basement entrance. Your map will point you in the right direction with a highlighted green area. But moving in that direction will immediately send you into a scrap with a crowd of schoolchildren visitors. Use area of effect weaving like charged fire of water attacks to see them off quickly, but be sure to conserve most of your ammo for what lies ahead…

Pray at the Jizo statue near here if you have not already done so and receive a boost to you water weaving ammunition. Head inside the shopping centre and use Spectral Vision to instantly reveal the presence of a Nurikabe. Absorb the spirit to gain a magatama and unveil the entrance to the basement.

Entering the door and heading down the stairs, you are soon met with a number of huddled, terrified spirts. They advise you to leave the area while you still can. The atmosphere down here is tense and foreboding, but you should press on regardless.

The Woman in Red

Akito will hear a woman’s voice as he and KK press onwards, and several of the spirits will mention a woman in red that is the boss down here. Keep exploring until you find an arcade, which has a single cabinet at the back with its screen flashing red. Writing will appear on the wall behind the cabinet. Approach the machine to interact with it and be ready for a scare, as menacing face appears on the screen. Head out of the arcade, and a crimson Kuchisake will manifest at the end of the hallway. This terrifying spirit is stronger than regular Kuchisakes, and will pursue you at high speed. Use your strongest abilities – like stun talismans, fire weaving and the bow – to take her down and cleanse the area.

Once this powerful spectre falls, the basement will wholly disappear and the Kuchisake’s victims can finally rest. Absorb the spirits around and talk to the ones that remain to complete A Passage Beyond and gain a huge amount of Meika for you trouble.
