Dell XPS 13 Plus specifications

The Dell XPS 13 Plus comes with the latest Intel 12th gen laptop mobile CPUs, in the form of the Alder Lake P-Series. The most powerful of these, the Intel Core i7-1280P is twice as powerful as the 2021 Dell XPS 13, and around 50% more powerful than a Macbook Pro 13 equipped with an M1 Pro chip. Despite all this, the laptop only weighs 1.23kg and is wafer-thin – a truly impressive bit of engineering from Dell and Intel.

You get three options of lighting fast LPDDR5-5200MHz RAM (8GB-32GB) though this is all soldered on, as you’d expect from such a thin device, so cannot be upgraded down the line. Interestingly though the PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD can be upgraded in the future, and you get a good 512GB-2TB range of SSD sizes. The port coverage is limited to just two USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 ports, which is less than ideal, so we’d strongly recommend getting a Thunderbolt 4 docking station or similar USB extension, particularly if you don’t have BlueTooth capable headphones.

Display options range from the touch screen or non-touch screen FHD options, which is recommended for most users, or 3.5K or UHD options, both of which have superior 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, for creatives who want to do color accurate work in this space.
