Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date trailer

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth release date was revealed in the below trailer, which came out on 16th June 2022.

What is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part of the remake of the original Final Fantasy VII game, which massively expands on the story of the original, changing various plot events, introducing a much more developed section where players can explore the city of Midgar and complete various missions, and even keeps alive several characters that were killed off in the original release (all justified in-game by a fight against ‘The Whispers’, the arbiters of fate who sought to make the events of the game follow the course of the original).

These new events took place in part one of the planned trilogy: the Final Fantasy VII Remake (released 10th April 2020), and were expanded on further in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (released June 2021), which had improved graphics, resolution, and FPS as well as shorter loading times, but most crucially included a PS5-exclusive expansion called Episode INTERmission which included a new playable character Yuffie Kisaragi. Final Fantasy VII Intergrade is now available on Steam (as of 17th June 2022) for those on PC who have yet to play it.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth looks set to continue to subvert expectations, which creative director Tetsuya Nomura stating that “New players might even enjoy starting their Final Fantasy VII journey with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” though what exactly this means in terms of plot and gameplay remains to be seen.
