The Z690 motherboard is what you’ll need to plug your new Intel 12th gen CPU into your PC when it releases, and below we list all the retailers you can both pre order and buy the various models of Z690 from.

Z690 release date

The official release date of the Z690 motherboard has been confirmed as November 4, 2021, although the new motherboard is available to pre order from various retailers, as listed below on this page.

Z690 specifications & Z690 price

The new LGA 1700 socket required in Z690 motherboards supporting the 12th gen Intel CPUs are reported to be rectangular (45 x 37.5) size sockets, compared to the (37.5 x 37.5) of the older LGA 1200.

The Z690 will support both the older DDR4 and the newer DDR5 with with native speeds of 4800MHz, as well as PCIe Gen 5.0, and enhanced overclocking capabilities for the Intel K CPUs (i.e. those capable of overclocking and of the most interest to gamers).
