While Resident Evil 4 may be the game on the tip of fans’ tongues, it’s not the only Resident Evil game that we got news on last night at the Capcom Showcase. We also got a much-anticipated update on the already-announced DLC for Resident Evil Village, and it’s a doozy.

What is the Resident Evil Village DLC and is there a Resident Evil Village DLC Trailer?

First off, Capcom revealed the story DLC for the game which is entitled “Shadows of Rose”. Those who have played Resident Evil Village will recognise this as a very thinly veiled pun, as Rose is the name of protagonist Ethan Winter’s daughter. She’ll be the playable character in this game, but unlike the main game it’ll be third-person, with Rose entering the ‘Megamycete’, a place where ‘time and space are warped beyond recognition.’

The next major piece of DLC will be a Mercenaries mode for Resident Evil Village which will excite those who enjoyed fighting against Lady Alcina Dimitrescu in the main game, as you can finally play as her in this DLC mode. In addition to that, you’ll be able to play as Karl Heisenberg and of course one of the original protagonists of Resident Evil, Chris Redfield himself.

Resident Evil Village is also getting a full third-person mode released later this year. Capcom has promised that not only will this be a completely new way to experience the game, but it’ll also have a whole host of new animations to serve the new perspective and possible other secrets that will be completely unique to the third-person camera view.

That’s not all though! Resident Evil Re:Verse, a piece of content announced in January last year is starting service at the exact same time that the DLC releases. Re:Verse sees you playing as beloved characters from the Resident Evil franchise and facing them off against each other to find out who is the strongest among them.

It’s unclear how long any of these will be, but the DLC for Resident Evil Biohazard took around 2 hours to complete, so it’s fair to expect the story DLC for Village to run at least that long, if not longer.

When does the DLC release?

So the DLC for Resident Evil Village is all releasing at the same time, as part of the Winters Expansion pack. It’ll launch on October 28th, alongside Resident Evil Re:Verse. It’s unclear currently if this first batch of DLC is also the final batch of content for Resident Evil Village, or if we’ll be seeing more announcements in the near future regarding support for the game.

How much will the DLC cost?

As of right now we don’t know how much the DLC for the game will cost, although looking at the DLC for Resident Evil 7 Biohazard we can assume it’ll cost between £7.99 and £11.99. It’s likely that in the coming months we’ll be given more updates on Resident Evil Village’s DLC, and the price point we can expect to pay for the Winters’ Expansion. It’s also possible that Capcom reveals a season pass for the game, which would heavily imply more content and also give players the opportunity to save money on their purchase.
