Total War Warhammer 3 is full of varied factions, lead by unique legendary lords. This is a blessing for campaign variety, but a curse when you’re up against them in the campaign itself. But before you start feeling outnumbered, did you know that defeating opposing legendary lords grants you unique traits?

Acquiring these traits ought to give you an edge in Total War Warhammer 3’s Realm of Chaos Campaign. Join us as we walk you through the bonuses granted for defeating each lord.

Lords of Kislev

Defeated Tzarina Katarin

Attribute: Causes terror when fighting against Kislev

Defeating the Queen of the Ice Court is a significant feat. As a result, remaining Kislev forces flee before you, in terror of your reputation and deeds.

Defeated Kostaltyn

Leadership +6 when in own territory (Lord’s army)

Kostaltyn is a respected and feared figure, defeating the leader of the Great Orthodoxy shows you are a leader worthy of equal respect.

Leadership +8 when fighting against Warriors of Chaos, Daemons of Chaos and Norsca (Lord’s army)

If you have the strength to defeat Boris Ursus – the Red Tsar – you army will quite literally follow you into hell and be all the stronger for it!

Lords of Cathay

Defeated Miao Ying

Attribute: Expert Charge Defense

Melee Defense +3 (Lord’s Army)

Defeating Miao Ying bestows upon the player some of Cathay’s defensive skills, and a surer way of combatting charging units.

Defeated Zhao Ming

Magic Item drop chance

Armour +5% (Lord’s Army)

Defeating Zhao Ming gives the player a taste of his treasure-amassing gameplay style, as well as a flat bonus to armour, befitting the iron defense of Cathay.

Lords of Chaos

Defeated the Daemon Prince

Diplomatic relations +20 with Kislev

Attrition: -50% casualties suffered from Chaos Undivided Corruption and Chaos Wastes attrition (Lord’s army)

Defeating the Daemon Prince goes some way towards mending Kislev, and you are treated much more warmly by the faction as a result. Additionally, you suffer fewer losses moving through Chaos Undivided territory, knowing that you are a match for their leader.

Growth +10 (Local province)

Defeating the Plaguefather grants the player some resistance against his deadly concoctions, as well as a bonus to expansion.

Defeating the Exiled One bestows your units with some of his Daemonic fury and combat prowess.

Defeated N’kari

Prevailing against the Fateweaver’s Chaos magic grants you further protection against similar spells in the future.

Lords of the Ogre Kingdoms

Defeated Greasus Goldtooth

Income from trade +10%

Income from all buildings +8% (Local province)

Defeating the Overtyrant lets you reap the financial benefits of his gold-hungry ways.

Defeated Skrag the Slaughterer

Chance of Winds of Magic increasing in strength when changing +5% (local province)

Miscast base chance 10%

Defeating the chosen of the Great Maw bestows you with some of his sorcerous prowess.
